A centenary bar that fuses gastronomy and art, epicenter of the bohemian life of modernist Barcelona.

Located on the ground floor of Casa Martí (the work of Puig i Cadafalch) on Montsió street, its decoration was inspired by Romeu's experiences at the "Le Chat Noir" cabaret in Paris.

This hundred-year-old bar opened its doors for the first time in 1897, more than 120 years ago, as a project by Pere Romeu together with the painters Santiago Rusiñol, Ramón Casas and Miguel Utrillo. In a short time it became the meeting point for the community of artists of the moment.

Literary gatherings, puppet and shadow shows, musical evenings and many art exhibitions were held within its walls, with prominent figures from the art world like Antoni Gaudí, Enrique Granados or Lluís Millet and Pablo Picasso, one of its regular clients at the start of his career.

Since then it has gone through different stages and we can say that in honor of its name, it has had several lives.
