Can Culleretes holds the title of being the oldest restaurant in Catalonia and the second in all of Spain. This famous restaurant, inaugurated in 1786 by Joaquim Pujol, initially functioned as a chocolate shop.
In 1890 the Regàs family bought it and it was transformed into a restaurant and began to gain prestige with the Catalan dishes it offered: escudella, butifarra con seques... As a curiosity, they say that the name arose from the busy waiter shouting: "Noies, culleretes!" (Girls, small spoons!).
Even today its spacious room transports you to modernist times, contemplating the great traditional paintings and the large number of photographs of celebrities who have been there. It also continues to be highlighted for the quality of its traditional gastronomic offer.
