A classic bar in Barcelona, located in the Gothic Quarter, very close to Port Vell and which has been serving the same tapas since they opened, more than 70 years ago. Josep and Quimeta opened the premises in 1945 and decided to focus on a few dishes.
This unique place is small, but full of character, with only six tables and a couple of kegs on the terrace. Working at the bar is Pepe Gómez, a waiter who is quite an institution in the place, since he has been working in La Plata for almost 50 years.
The selection of tapas responsible for its success is reduced to: a simple tomato, onion and olives salad, anchovies, fried fish and sausage. Little variety, but all made with seasonal products of excellent quality and washed down with a Montana Perucchi vermouth or a small jug of wine.
