A street that hides modernist treasures, emblematic and long-life shops and a Gothic cloister with some very special pardons from its Church.

Santa Anna street located between Portal del Ángel Avenue and Las Ramblas in Barcelona with a great commercial activity. The main attraction of the street is the church of Santa Anna, which began to be built in the middle of the 12th century, during the Romanesque period.

If we enter at number 29 on Santa Anna street, we find the church of Santa Anna, with a Romanesque structure and a Gothic-style door, originally from the year 1300, and a Gothic cloister that is an essential visit. In the old church were located the headquarters of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher, and pilgrims came seeking forgiveness of their guilt, because it had the same value as that obtained by pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. Later, already in 2019, the sculpture "Jesus homeless" was installed, work of Canadian sculptor Timothy Schmalz. It represents Jesus of Nazareth, sleeping on a bench covered with a blanket, as a complaint about the situation of the homeless.

At number 21 of the street we can find the Casa Helena Castellano, a modernist-style building from 1907 that attracts attention because of its large central gallery connectings the first two floors. In the same architectural style, at number 18, we find the Nouvel hotel.

This shopping street preserves one of the shops that belongs to the emblematic Barcelona route, the well-known Guanteria Alonso, which preserves the traditional modernist aesthetic of its foundation in 1907. This store is surrounded by several restaurants such as Santa Anna and La Luna restaurant and Granja Santa Ana, longtime opticians such as Sanabre and Sisquella, consumables such as Bresco and Blasi, Bags and purses in Complements Sales, a smoke shop, a pharmacy and a veterinary center, among others...
