A vintage-style bar that surprises us with a modernist elevator as a door which has been able to modernize itself in these 50 years of history.
This unique bar began its journey more than 50 years ago, in the spring of 1970. It was born from a partnership between Ramón Folguera and Jordi Tarradellas, who reformed this place on Bellafilla street and gave it its personality, installing a modernist elevator cabin as a door.
In the early years the bar passed through several hands, until it found stability in Ángel Juez, who has run it for more than 40 years.
Currently, L'Ascensor and its decoration transports you to other times. It is characterized by the predominance of wood, old posters, red upholstery and glass lamps.
But it is a bar that has known how to evolve, introducing cocktails and new musical sounds. That is say, a completely modernized vintage place, in the Gothic Quarter.
