Christmas at Gothic Quarter

December 3rd. 2025

Some Christmas activities in the Gòtic are unique and have elements of popular culture that bring us together as a neighborhood, and attract both local and tourist visitors because they are genuine! Don't miss them!

  • The arrival of the Spirit of Christmas and its entourage will announce the beginning of the Festivities with "The Dance of the Spirit of Christmas", wishing Happy Holidays along our streets.
  • After the Christmas Proclamation is read from the balcony of Palau de La Virreina, there will be a parade along Carrer de la Portaferrissa, Boters, Plaça Nova, Santa Llúcia Fair, Joaquim Pou, Via Laietana, Sant Pere Més Alt, Verdaguer i Callís, ending at the Casa dels Entremesos in Plaça de les Beates, where all the characters of Ciutat Vella's Festa Major sleep.
  • Also the Man of the Noses, who will parade through the streets on December 31st.

Other Christmas traditions and events Also during the month of December, one of the characters from the Traditional Bestiary, the Carassa, will once again visit our streets every Saturday in December and will have a Christmas parade through the Gòtic, accompanied by grallers (traditional musicians) and spitting candies from its mouth as gifts for boys and girls.

More than two hundred stalls fill Avinguda de la Catedral, with a wide variety of products, at the oldest Christmas fair in the city.
