Shops and Artists invite you to discover the Gothic Quarter

From May 12 to June 3, twenty artistic interventions by well-known in contemporary national and international artist names will occupy the windows of various unique establishments in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, in a new edition of "Artistic Showcases".

The project conceived by the cultural publication Hänsel and Gretel and promoted by Barna Centre, aims to enhance the importance of shop windows as commercial spaces and spaces to dialogue with the citizens, inviting Barcelona residents and tourists to enjoy the works of these artists outside the conventional circuits, thus strengthening, and in addition, the links between commerce and culture.

In this second edition, the unique circuit of "Artistic Showcases" adds up to 20 points of exposure to the shop windows, Accent Created Diamonds, Antiguitats Olga de Sandoval, Atelier De Ballerinas, Casa Jornet, Conesa, Espai Quera, Fargas Xocolateria, Fly Shop Salmon 2000, Fortune Cat, Joieria Petritxol, Joieria Sant, Marcs Petritxol, Miret 1919, Restaurant Immersió, Rossana de la Riva, Sala Parés, UP HEADWEAR, Vamvaki, Villa del Arte and YellowKornerr.

At these exhibition points, the artworks of the participating artists will be visible to the whole world, occupying all or part of the window space, depending on the characteristics of each artistic intervention designed by its author: Didier Lourenço, Gino Rubert, Guillem Trius, Jacint Todó, Jaime Pitarch, Jaime Serra, Joan Fontcuberta, Laia Noal, Lara Fluxà, Lluís Lleó, Marcos Cárdenas, Mari Ito, Mercedes Pimiento, Miguel Rasero, Núria Güell, Pedro Torres, Pep Agut, Perico Pastor, Rosa Tharrats and Stella Rahola.

From Barna Centre we encourage you to enjoy this new edition of "Artistic Showcases" with which, one more year, we recover the spirit of Auca del Señor Esteve, in which Santiago Rusiñol presents the reconciliation of two apparently irreconcilable worlds, the sensible merchant with an iron will who raises the blinds of his shop every day and the bohemian artist, in this act represented by some of the most outstanding artistic creators of the moment.
