Inauguration of the “Crafts and Traditions in the Gothic Quarter” route!

· When? December 9th. 2025
· Hour? From 17:00h to 19:00h

Today we gather to celebrate a very special initiative that aims to bring closer the living history of the Gothic Quarter through its most emblematic shops.

We want to thank Nadia Quevedo, Commissioner of Commerce, for joining our Board and for her commitment to local shops and the promotion of the traditions that make our neighborhood unique.

This activity invites you to discover, this holiday season, some of the most unique establishments of the Gothic Quarter while you participate in a fun game: guess the trade of each shop, immersing yourself in their stories, and you could win a basket of exclusive products.

Shops participating in this route:

  • Guanteria Alonso
    Who doesn't recognize their gloves?
    Carrer Santa Anna, 27
Specialized in gloves since 1905, it is an icon of artisanal skill in Barcelona, offering gloves for all occasions, made with the finest materials.
  • Ganiveteria Roca
    Plaça del Pi, 3
A century-old shop dedicated to the art of cutlery. Here you will find everything from traditional knives to kitchen utensils and cutting tools, always with expert advice.
  • Barreteria Obach
    Carrer del Call, 2
Open since 1924, this shop is a true benchmark in the making and selling of hats and berets, preserving the tradition of a craft with great style.
  • La Manual Alpargatera
    Carrer d’Avinyó, 7
Founded in 1941, it is the first espadrille workshop-store in Barcelona. Here, espadrilles are still designed and handmade, preserving techniques passed down from generation to generation.
  • Cereria Subirà
    Baixada de Llibreteria, 7
The oldest candle shop in Barcelona, active since 1761. Specialized in handmade candles, it is a historic establishment full of charm and tradition.

We encourage you to take this route at your own pace, visit each shop, discover their secrets, and let yourself be surprised. You just have to scan the QR code in each shop or pick up the campaign leaflet “Guess what they do” to participate.

You have until January 6th to enjoy the game and enter the draw for a fantastic basket of products.

Thank you very much for joining us and for supporting local commerce, the living heritage of the historic center!
